How do you clean a stainless steel fridge/oven?
Question:I had a special stainless steel cleaner, free when I bought the appliances, but it is empty-is there anything aound the house that I can use to keep it clean, shiny, and as scratch free as possible? Thanks
Answers:
The stainless steel wipes that you can purchase in the tube are just mineral oil on a soft cloth. You can purchase mineral oil anywhere, and it's also good for oiling your cutting boards every now and then too.
mean green its like 2 dollars you can get it at kmart or the dollar store...it works wonders...I love it... I use it to clean everything in my house and it does a great job
Stainless steel cleaner and a paper towel...that's what we use on everything...and it's all shiny and smudge-free!
Yeah I usually use one I got from Wilkos (I'm assuming you're from the uk) There's quite a few but the really good ones cost a bit you can get them at Lakeland - aaah lakeland is there anything you can't fix? *sigh*
I think their site is www.lakeland.co.uk but google it if not :)
Glass cleaner works good. If it is really grimey, BonAmi or Bar Keepers Friend work well. You might think that these cleaners are too abrasive, but honestly they really won't scratch. Hope this helps.
after degreasin it just like normal, (which wont hurt it at all) either use a special marketed product or a strong acid. This will deoxidize the rusted surface metal just to make it shiny as. I always use car battery acid (sulphuric acid) to clean the kettle and sink when they start to lack lustre. Make sure to wash the acid off with water or you'll get spots of residue.
A good way to clean stainless steel appliances is with microfiber cloths and water. You don't need any chemical cleaners with microfiber, check out this website at merrymicrofiber.com under kitchen care and you will see a testimonial of a lady who finally found the solution to her problem of cleaning her stainless steel appliances.
