How do I get oil stains off my driveway?
Question:
Answers:
Take a new bag of cat litter and put a couple of scoops on the oil stain. Then you grind it into the oil stain with your foot. Leave it for a couple of hours and then sweep it up.
wash with soapy water (cold not warm) scrub the stains with something (like a sponge)
see if that helps
I have a big plastic jug of grease cleaning solution which I keep in my garage. They sell it at Smart & Final in the janitorial cleaner section. Very carefully pour some full strength only on the stain (careful not to splash your clothing or anything else because it is so strong it bleaches the color out of clothes.
I let the solution sit for a half a day. Then I get a hose and wash it off (it bubbles like soap). If the grease mark hasn't been completely removed, don't worry because time will take care of it. You can give it more treatments but I don't bother to do that anymore.
Dawn dish detergent is a good and safe to use degreaser. Its used to help clean oil spills off of live animals remember? It'll clean your dishes and your driveway too.
You can use either cold or warm water, and a good stiff brush or "corn broom" will often help too. A gargen hose works fine.
