Ironing Query. Top to Toe or Toe to Top?

Question:Would some kind lady please help me settle an argument.

When ironing gentlemens socks, should they be ironed top to toe or toe to top?

My previous partners have followed my late mother's practice of ironing toe to top as this prevents "bunching" at the toe.

However my current partner just "pushes" (there is no other word for it) the iron down in a presssing motion from top to toe. She tells me that this is how she does it.

As we have only been together a few weeks I have no wish to offend her. However I feel that it is necessary to firmly present an outside opinion.

Would anyone here care to venture one?

Answers:
you have far to much time on your hands if you iron socks, either that or your taking p1ss!

who irons socks , more work for nothing , your foot stretches the creases out
Only old people iron socks.. my nan used to iron my thongs and g strings!
Who irons socks?!

I'm sorry but if, after only a few weeks, this women is kind enough to iron something you're going to stick on your feet and inside a shoe then you should not be demanding how she chooses to iron it. Otherwise you risk having to return to doing your own ironing!
i can't help I'm afraid. i never iron underwear. to be honest i didn't think anyone did. what a waste of time!
you must be british (no offense intended)---my best friends mom is british & she irons everything--sheets, socks, underwear. you name it she irons it
Dont you think you're being a bit picky? surely you dont want to make an argument out of something so petty as ironing socks? Leave your partner to it! Surely it does'nt matter which way the socks are ironed sa long as they're ironed?Logically if you're that serious though i'd say Top to Toe!
there is no real need to iron socks, but if you do the correct way IS from toe to top
i dont personnally iron socks but my mother inlaw and my mother iron same as your late mum did from toe to top so does my gran and partners gran.xx
Oh dear! Surely life's too short?
Is this a joke? I have been maried for 10 years and never ironed a sock in my life (or much else if I can get away with it!) Life really is too short, do it yourself if you're that unhappy.
Socks are the last thing to iron. When you put them on they stretch over the feet and there is not a crease in site.
Are you kidding? Who irons socks?
Lifre is too short to iron socks, my therory if no one else sees it dont iron it. This includes sock, boxers, knickers, pjs, sheets towels etc. Got better things to do with ny time. My husband would get told where to put his socks id he asked me to iron thm!
I just read your query and I agree it is very important for a woman to serve a gentleman's needs and live up to his expectations, especially where it concerns his laundry.
As the relationship is still very premature indeed, it is best not to over react on this matter. May I kindly suggest that you contact the Laundry-Alternative Educational Center where you are able to apply for the initial course leading up to the First Certificate Of Housewife's Excellence.
The course commences as early as June 20th, Saturday's from 07.00 to 12.30 for a duration of 3 months only and costs 250 GBP, without equipment that is.
Good Luck!
lmfao. If you asked me to iron your sock's, I'd shove them up your a*se,

;-)
