Cleaning white enamel hob?
Question:I have a white enamel hob (soilid plates). The area surrounding the plates has become stained brown, even though I clean it every day. I dont want to use an abrasive cleaner and scratch the enamel - what's the best way to clean this up like new though?

bicarbonate of soda powder - mixed with lemon juice or vinegar (to form a paste) rub on leave for 10 mins and clean off with warm water. That should get rid of the marks/stains. .
Oven Cleaner, and a few old toothbrushes. Alternativly, if its that bad, and you have a practical mind, you could strip it then soak the 'soakable' components in caustic soda. That will bring it up like new, no abrasives. Use my e-mail for more guidance.(open on profile)
Try a cleaner containing bleach, but you will probably have to use an abrasive. Just test it in a small spot before using it everywhere. The new abrasives are great on bathtubs. aren't they enamel?
Bi-carb and vinegar mixed together in warm water. Put it on the stain, leave for half an hour, then wipe off with cloth. You may have to do this a few times before its like new again but patience is a virtue.
Sprinkle Baking soda and mix with a little dishwashing liquid, then rub with a sponge or cloth whichever you prefer, when you have removed grease and tough caked on mess you can then rinse with warm or hot water, then dry with soft cloth or allow to air dry
Or you can use, Baking soda and Borax mixed together as you would a cleanser, netiher baking soda or borax will scratch the surface and are safe to use.
