How do you get playdo (stains) out of the carpet?

Question:The "hardened" playdo part is out, what is left is the playdo coloring - there really isn't much playdo (if any) left in the carpet. I'm looking to remove the actual color stain left by the playdo. Thanks!

Answers:
Have you tried the Oxy cleaner yet? On a place where you can't see, try some vinegar & water. I think play dough is water based color, and should come out. Good luck.

It should be water soluable, rent a steam cleaner.
good luck... i believe play dough is made with natural food coloring dye... id contact the company who makes it...
been there done that... ive got all hard wood floors now... worth the investment...
i have to tell you that sorry to say but i have been cleaning carpets for many years and their is int any way to remove the color it will disappear for a short time but it will come back sorry
There may be no way to get it out. If there is the manufacturer will know. Call the 1-800 number on the label.
Some diluted Simple Green works great on carpet stains. I have the generic brand from Costco and have never had to buy other carpet stain removers.
if its red,Shaving Cream
its what we use in the nursing home for red stains
