My husband is a concrete contractor & comes home filthy everyday, how can I,?
Question:get his clothes as clean as possible, I've tried most all detergents and they still aren't clean enough. What is the best detergent you have used?
Answers:
I am a pipe-layer and often work with concrete ( water-plug , it's a quick-set/underwater concrete ) and it really jacks-up my skin ! Not to mention my clothes- It is the lime that dries out the skin and makes it stay in the clothes. I use vinegar .white vinegar to wash my hands as soon as I can whenever I touch concrete ( the acid neutralizes the lime and dissolves it , making it possible to wash off skin---AND clothing too !) If you have a large washer I would use 1 to 1 1/2 cups of white vinegar and add your normal detergent. It is the ONLY thing known to me that really works !
Not necessarily the detergent.
My wife and I gave up on our old W/D and bought a new Fisher&Paykel set from Lowes.
Holy Cow! Clean, cleaner, cleanest... and very economical to operate. Cost a bit but worth it!
But try Tide, and add some Oxyclean to bolster it.
oxy clean and the maytag neptune washer and dryer
Use Tide, and maybe a little baking soda as well. Also, I think power dertergents work better for liquid when you are washing clothes that are filthy like this.
Also, never ever buy an "effency" washer and dryer... they suck. The ones that use lots of water work much better... especially when your clothes are very dirty.
First off are you using the right temperature? Warm water always, Second, any detergent will do as long as it didn't cost 2.99. Third buy a box of Borax, its the stuff with a 20 mule team on the box(maybe not, I'm not sure they still make that brand), Start washer, add clothes, don't overload, add detergent, add a cup of borax, let washer agitate a minute or two to mix borax and detergent. Stop washer let clothes soak for 15 minutes. Restart washer and go, the clothes will be cleaner I guarantee.
i would stop using your wash machine to clean his filthy clothes and send them to the landry mat let the laundry mat's machine take the abuse. my fiance works in the oil field and comes home filthy i take his rig clothes to the laundry mat and the ladies there get them super clean, one lady says she uses a can of coca cola to get out tough stains.
get him to take off his clothing out side peg it to your wash line and put a hose on it to get all the rubbish off ,them put it in the washer all the nasty stuff should be washed off by the hose and you'll not be washing the clothing in dirty water.
