Try white vinegar and alcohol. :) Works best for me - especially those darn coffee stains on carpet!

White vinegar is good for laundry stains as well. It's good for every kinds of stains!

Hydrogen peroxide is great for biological stains (blood etc.) and doesn't damage clothes the way chlorine bleach does--plus, it's really cheap. Rubbing alcohol is good for ink stains. I think the stain remover depends on the stain. . .
