How do I bring a pillow back to shape?
Question:I have this pillow which I put into the washing machine to wash and then put it into the dryer. After it came out it has become shapeless.
It seems to have cotton filling - although the label on it says: "Polyester Fiber Batting".
What is the best way to bring it back into shape (other than cutting it open and manually rearranging the filling..)?It is a nice comfy pillow that I would rather not lose.
Thanks..
Answers:
Put it in the dryer with a tennis ball...dry on LOW...the bouncing action of the ball will help "fluff" the pillow...this also works great with down (or down alternative) comforters...bed pillows, throw pillows, and bedspreads...if using the ball does not do it any good, you are basically stuck, my friend..I know of no other way to try to bring the shape back...(short of what you mentioned about opening and rearranging the filing)...
Probably the heat from the dryer caused the fiber to shrink. You can place it in the dryer and tumble with no heat.
I don't really know. But good question!
