Laundry problem?

Question:Okay I will try to explain this the best that I can. Every once and a while I will wash a load of colors and after drying them and getting them out there will be one shirt two at the most that look discolored almost like there was bleach put in the load, I never use bleach and this has happenend to several of our colored clothes and we have changed detergents time after time and still the same thing happens currently we are using purex free and clear. This happenend when we lived in a town 45 min away and in an apartment we thought it was the chlorine level in the water or maybe the washer or dryer, we then bought a house and have our own washer and dryer and it is still happening not as often but still happens. Does anyone know whats up? Or had this happen to them and what did you do to fix the problem this is beginning to be expensive because it usually ruins our work clothes my boyfriends t shirts and polo shirts and have to buy more.

Answers:
Are pouring the detergent directly on the clothes as the washer is filling?

You have to either put the detergent in first and allow the washer to fill with water, then add the clothes, or you will need to add the clothes, allow the washer to fill with water, then add the detergent diluted with water.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: You let the water fill for a while, isn't the same as letting it fill up and agitate the water for a moment - so the detergent is distributed. I think that would be the problem. Also be sure to measure the amount of detergent correctly for the load size.

I really do hope this helps. :) It's not fun to take a load of clothes out and find half of them ruined.

You need a milder soap or use less and probably cold water. Some fabrics and dyes will fade faster than others. There is a laundry soap that is specifically made for dark clothes to prevent this problem but i don't know what it is called. You could try using Woolite.
Do you use liquid fabric softener? This will also cause bleach like stains on your clothes if you pour it directly on the fabric.
If you read the label on liquid fabric softener it will tell you not to pour directly on clothes.
Hope this helps.
