How to get burnt stains off my pot?

Question:I left my pot boiling for a long time and i completely forgot about it until i smelled something burnt. Inside-bottom of the pot was completely black and i tried soaking it in water then scrubbing it, but it just won't come off. What are some simple home remedies to get these burnt spots off?

Answers:
Boil some water in it then scrape and scrubb with comet or ajax.

Something I've done - use a wire scrubbing pad. Something I've heard of - make a paste out of cream of tater (in the spice isle), rub it in ,leave it for a few hours, then wash it away.
You might try apple cider vinegar and baking soda together. Let it soak and see if it will loosen up the black. The only other item I can think of is WD40.
u can use oven cleaner its the same thing. They r probably not burned stains but burned food and gresse
Here is a real home remedies. When you think a pan is scorched beyond saving, try this: Fill it with ordinary mud and let it sit for a day or so. Then scrub it vigorously with the mud. This will often save the pan when nothing else will.
The BEST and QUICKEST way is to put very, very hot water into the pot and add about 1/2c of OXYCLEAN - this will bubble off the burnt on stuff very quickly and safely and no scrubbing required.
maybe with a microfiber cloth and some kind of good cleaning solution. but if i were u, id just get rid of it completely and buy non-stick next time.
