Why doesn't the bright blue laundry detergent stain clothes blue?

Question:

Answers:
Ava,
It actually takes bluing to make white whiter in color. Blue is used in paints to make white paints whiter too. It is just a chemical addition to make the detergent not so boring you might say, just like the perfumes.
Colors & scents effect the sensory perceptions of out products to get people to but them, not to say that the chemistry that goes into the product is not lagit, it is just a way to make it not so potent that it would be real hard to stain everthing due to the PPM (or parts per million) which is minute in volume that it does not matter except for the effectiveness of the bluing itself.
Example: 1 part blue det. to 1,000,000,000 parts clear det.
You really dont see the 1 part blue because of the volume of the other million that dilute it down. Hope this helps! stay clean and not blue!
