Salt will keep the suds down pour a bunch in the bottom and keep repeating till the suds are gone.
Well, at least they figured it out at this age. I didn't figure it out until I was 27 or so. What I did, was put the dishwasher through it's regular cycle. I know that this will create bubbles like no tomorrow. Open the dishwasher and take a big bowl and "scrape" the bubbles off. Once you have all the bubbles off, close it and start over. You'll probably do this a dozen times or so. Your dishwasher should be fine though.
Try liquid fabric softner. It should kill the suds.I know it will get rid of them in the washing machine.
I agree that you can use either liquid fabric softener or you can use a rinse agent. Be sure to run a full cycle without dishes and given overall in time the bubbles will eventually disappear.
Absolutely, you should get your owners' manual and call the manufacturer's helpline. If you cannot find the manual, call 1-800-555-1212 (toll free information) and get the manufacturer's phone number and call them. Tell them precisely what has happened and take THEIR advice. I am sure they have had this question before and they would be the best suited to properly answer your question since they manufactured your dishwasher. Good luck to you!
