What does the inspection number found inside shirts mean?
Question:I was just really curious. It's like when you buy a new shirt and inside your shirt, there's a small sticker that sticks onto the tag and it says like "inspection #30" or whatever the number is. What does it mean?
Answers:
After working several years in a manufacturing plant I can ell you that instead of names the inspectors as well as other workers are assigned numbers. As the garments are completed the inspector has to sign off that it passed so they apply the sticker to show that that garment has been inspected and that it passed inspection by the person who is assigned that number.
That is the number of the actual person who inspected the shirt for it's quality. You may actually find several where they stick them on by buttons, hems, necklines, etc. to show that the clothing article was inspected.
It is the number of the person that inspected the article of clothing before saying that it was ok to be sold.
