How do you clean off the residue melted on to an iron?

Question:There was a product in the grocery store but now I can't find it.

Answers:
i have no clue sorry

heat it back up and take a putty knife t scrape it off.
go to Bed Bath and Beyond or one of those stores, probably anywhere that they sell irons. They have a paste and special cloth to clean off the residue, I don't remember how much it costs but it was under $10 and you must get about 10 uses out of a tube. Just follow the instructions.
try to drop melted candle wax on the iron. when it dries or colds, peel off the candle wax. the residue will go with the candle wax.
When your iron is cool try using a little De-solv-it, and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. It's lemon oil based and milder than say Goo-gone (which I also use but not for this). It should work with a little patience and it shouldn't hurt any surface on your iron.
I use the iron cleaner by faultless. It works great. you put it on while the iron is hot and the residue basically runs off a wipe with a clean cloth and your Iron looks new again. I brought it at walmart in the isle with the cleaning products.
make sure the iron is off first then wipe the gunk off with acetone nail polish
I have always just used a metal scouring pad from the kitchen and rub it off with water.
take paraffane wax and wrap it in a white cotten cloth and set iron on high and run iron over it
