What is the best way to get rid of the black that appears on my husband's shirt collars?
Question:I am looking for home methods and/or products that really work.
(Been spending a lot of $$ on useless ones lately)
For colored and white shirt collars.
Also any remedies for chocolate stains? ...my son gets it all over his clothes when I allow him to have some.
Thanks and have a pleasant weekend! :)

This is normal for shirt collars , to become dirty. and normal for your son to get the choc- all over himself, The way I can suggest you try for the choc- stains. Is first soak in cold water, then add a small amount of your dish washing detergent liquid, remove from cold water add the liquid, rub in with your finger tip´s , Now pop into your machine on a 30ºc or 40 ºc normal wash. This should lift the stains out. For the collars of your husbands shirt I can suggest this, Good old fashioned soap bar soap,(Natural Soap) not expensive and works very well on collars and those hard to remove under arm sweat stain´s. I use this my self for my husband´s shirt´s kid´s white sock´s, all whites . Soak the shirts in cold water, remove from the water and rub the soap into the stains, leaving the shirt free from water and the soap still on say1/2 hr. Now back to the cold water, give a rub to the stains. This time rub more soap on the stains pop the shirt with the soap still on into your machine, on a 40ºc wash, add your normal washing powder too. Once washed , hand outside in the sun, any remaining stains will bleach out by the sun the natural way, and it will also bleach your whites whiter than white ,
I'm not trying to be a smart-***, if your talking about his collars, have him wash his neck.

Here's a few lighthearted remedies Jersey mom;
A.
Ask your husband to refrain from wearing a white collar while changing the gearbox or the diff in the people mover. That should help.
B.
In our family, when we got chocolate on our hands and after Buffy the pillow slayer dog had licked most of it off, we'd all wipe the rest of the icky-sticky doggy-chocspit stew all over our youngest brothers' clothes. (so we didn't get into trouble for wiping it on our own.)
Seriously though, For the first eight or ten years, white chockie only for the little ones.
(or a carrot)
Bless 'em

How about changing hubby's and son's wardrobe every now and then?
the best thing for ring around the collar is your everyday shampoo. It is made to get rid of the grease and oils from the human body. Just scrub it in with an old toothbrush. As for the chocolate stains, use shout. Spray it on both sides of the fabric (so many people forget that) and give it a light scrub with the toothbrush. Let it sit for a day or three and then wash as usual. You can also pretreat bot sides of the fabric with All stain lifter detergeant. It really gets those stains out. Just remember to let it sit for a day or two before you wash it.
