What's the best way to get Sharpie off of shoes??
Question:My friends wrote all over my shoes with Sharpies.. and the teachers at my school want it gone.. I tried just about everything I can think of.. any suggestions??
Answers:
Sorry, but your shoes are toast. Sharpie markers are permanent. You may be able to lessen the marks, but they will always be there. Tell your friend that she owes you a pair of shoes.
Take a nail file and scratch it off.
what kind of shoes? If they are leather use a magic eraser (those things are awesome!) if they are fabric, I'm not sure but you could try bleaching them out.
HTH
I have never tried this with a shoe but at work when someone writes with a sharpe on a wall or desk the best way to get it off is to take a sharpy and re-write it (over the top of the original) while whiping it off. It seems the fluid of the sharpy makes the stuff that has already dried wet again so you can wipe it off. But I do not know if it will work on shoes...but it may be worth a try
If its a smooth surface id try hand sanitizer. I use it to get writing off from my folders that I wrote on with sharpies.
try rubbing alcohol / hydrogen peroxide (i don't remember which one it was) but i used it a couple times to remove sharpie from stuff.
xylene
go to walmart in the paint section and get some goo gone. follow directions and it should take it off if you cant find it ask some one at the store to show you where it is you might have to let it sit on your shoes or scrub them a couple of times. but the most important thing is dont let your friends write on your shoes with anything not even a sharpie
try a nail scrub brush and some of the hand cleaner that guys use to get their hands clean after working on car engines. a good one with degreasers works great on sharpies on work clothes, it might work on your shoes
mr clean sponge should do the trick
Nail polish remover with acetone.
try a eraser by mr. clean. It might work.
Goo Be Gone works pretty well. I have gotten permanent marker out of plastic with it.
if their white try clorox pen
Try nail Polish remover
