How do I remove dust from stuffed animals?
Question:How do I keep my stuffed animals clean and dust free? Putting them in the washing machine is not an option. They are old and delicate.
Answers:
1.lightly vacuum with a handheld attachment that has a brush on the end.
2. Put your dryer on fluff and throw them in dry--that has no heat. only do it for a few minutes. Use a linens mesh bag if you think that will protect them better.
3. Perhaps you can give them a shot of steam --steam is used on very delicate clothing and it doesn't harm the clothing-- many stores use steam before the put clothes out on the racks. Just some ideas!

Buy a couple cans of air from walmart in the computer section. They are called air dusters. I use them for a lot of things.
I agree, sometimes the washing machine can be a little rough.
When our stuffed animals get dusty, we lovingly take them down from the shelve and let 'Buffy the pillow slayer' (small fluffy dog) play with them.
He gets the dust off in a wink.
We recently decided to get Buffy a mate but, as it's sad how he seems to really look forward to playtime with his little animal mates.
That, and I think the toy giraffe may be expecting.

You can take them and place them in your dryer on NO heat for about 5-10 minutes. The dust, hair etc will come off and go into the lint trap. If you want them to smell better , throw in a dryer sheet.
You might try some of that "canned air", the stuff for getting the crud out of computer keyboards. I use that around fragile ceramics for dusting where cloths can't get. You may want to hold the can further away from more delicate items, and remember to spray in short bursts, not a steady stream.
If it is a delicate, valuable stuffed animal, put a stocking over the end of a hose vacuum cleaner and vacuum. If you're trying to eliminate dust mites, after vacuuming put it in a zip lock bag and put it in the freezer overnight. You could also try dry shampoo but try a tiny amount in an inconspicuous spot first.
you may need to get a glass case, if this is not an option i would get one of those swiffer dusters, they supposedly attract dust directly to the handle. this may help a little. I would also pick them up once a day and just give them a quick brushing. also they sell canned air. you can probably get one in an electronics store. It blasts a shot of sir out of a thin little tube. They are for getting dust off of electronics but it may help you in your area as well without hurting the animals.

like eyes on the stuffed animal are secure before
