How Do You CLEAN A DOWN Sleeping Bag ?

Question:IS DRY CLEANING SAFE FOR YOU TO SLEEP IN THE BAG? ALL THOSE HARSH CLEANING FLUIDS .

You stick it in a washing machine with your usual detergent (unless it's very dirty - then add some specialised cleaning products). With goose down coats they sell special balls to go into a machine - i think it's for the tumble drier, but they look and feel like ordinary tennis balls, only different colour - so you can use a tennis ball. Wash it on 40C. Then tumble dry or air it outside - undo all the zips first. If airing outside - don't forget to turn it and shake it every so often, and only put it away if completely dry on the inside, otherwise it's mould.
More expensive solution - give it to dry-cleaners.
