Cleaning my kitchen oven?
Question:Hello!
I need to clean my oven and i really dont want to use the self-cleaning feature. I have a nice size grease spill on the bottom that I want to get rid of.Someone told me to use baking soda, some else told me there is a spray... can anyone help me out? thanks! :)
Answers:
Easy off oven cleaner works GREATTTTTTT!! Just spray it on and let it set for 30 minutes or alittle longer and it wipes right off.
Cover it with salt. Use the oven, and when it's cool, wipe out with a paper towel.
Scrape what you can with a spatula and then use spray oven cleaner.
Baking soda will clean anything (I love to clean my kitchen sink with it). You can also buy an oven cleaner - look for one that you don't have to let sit overnight.
Good call on not using chem cleaner. They can contain lye and sodium hydroxide-strong, caustic substances that can cause severe corrosive and damage to eyes, skin. mucous membranes...
So what I have found to work well is backing soda. Sprinkle the oven with backing soda and spray with water. Let it sit for several hours or over night. Wash off...
Put salt on the spot. Next time you use the oven, it may stink a little but when the oven is cool again, sweep or vacuum out the crusty stuff and then clean with HOT water and dish soap. (Use a rag as it may stain the cloth you use!)
Easy off oven cleaner, use the overnight method
Just use a razor scraper then scour it. Shouldn't take more then 5 mins.
pour table salt onto it this will soak up the grease then use a kitchen towel to remove the spill , Then get some really hot soapy water and wash inside of oven dry off,and them clean down with a de greaser.
Honestly I can tell you something that you probably never would have thought of but it works wonders!
Go buy some CLR! Seriously, just pour it on the spill, let it set about 5 or 10 minutes, and take papertowels and it will wipe right up! No scrubbing, no nothing! Then just rinse the area down real good and you're ready to cook again!
