What can I put my paper recyclables in if I don't have brown paper grocery bags?
Question:I ran out of paper grocery bags this week (I haven't been going to the grocery store regularly) and don't know what to put my paper recyclables in now. (We're not supposed to bundle or tie the paper, either.) Suggestions?
Answers:
I'd visit my neighbor and ask her if she had any I could use. If none of my firends had paper bag to use, I would bundle them somewhere (I have some reusable crates hanging around for emergencies like this) until I could get to the grocery store and get more paper bags.
You might want to check you local yellow pages to see if there is somewhere you could drop them off. You might not want to make a special trip for that but if you were already heading in that general direction it might be an alternative solution and you could probably tie them until you drop them off.
I use plastic bags if they're recyclable. (Look for the recyle symbol.) The city I live in recycles all types of plastic but your city may not.
