What is best way to remove soap scum from ceramic tile in shower?
Question:Just purchased an older home and the bathrooms are NASTY with dull ceramic tile in shower stalls...I've tried Kaboom to no avail and scrubbing with comet is scratching surface. Can anyone suggest a good way, except dynamite of course.

First try baking soda (it's a wonderful non-toxic non-abrasive cleaner) and then use full strength white vinegar (also non-toxic)- after that keep a spray bottle of vinegar in the bathroom and spray down the shower stall once or twice a week. No more soap scum or mildew!!

Bon Ami I think it is called. It comes in a can like Comet or Ajax but it does not scratch. Try that, I was going to try it Monday because I have the same problem. Tried Kaboom, Tile X, 409, and countless others.
Shine ceramic tiles
If soap scum or water spots have dulled the ceramic tiles around your sink or bath, bring back the brightness by scrubbing them with 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup ammonia, and 1/4 cup borax mixed in 1 gallon (3.7 liters) warm water. Rinse well with cool water and let air-dry.
Whiten your grout
Restore it to its original shade of white by using a toothbrush dipped in undiluted white vinegar to scrub away the dinginess

bleach slightly watered down in a garden pump bottle,open windows and turn on exhaust,spray down shower wait good half hour and wash off,no scrubbing needed
If it's smooth tile, use a single edged razor and scrape it off. Be sure the tile is dry. It comes off easy then.
Along with the baking soda use vinegar mixed together. I clean houses and use apple cider vinegar and baking soda it will loosen up the soap scum. Rinse well. It may take a few times then spray some WD40 on a cleaning rag and wipe dry. WD40 is a good water repellent.
Just some advice. After every use of the shower rinse it down then wipe it dry you will never have soap scum and water build up......
