The scent of garlic...help!?
Question:I'm looking for a way to get the scent of garlic out of plastic dishware. I had some roasted garlic stored in a plastic dish, and now I can't get the smell out? I don't want to have to throw the bowl away! Thanks for your help. :)

Wash your plastic dish and then fill it to the brim with hot water, about 1 tablespoon of bleach and the juice of one lime.
Leave overnight, and next day wash it out again. Smell should be gone and is good for stains as well as it will leave your dish super clean!

Vinegar, lime or Clorox/Bleach will help remove the scent.
try some dawn dish soap and soak it for a couple hours ... something like a lemon scent
Lmon juice, Salt and Ice cubes. swirl around. also use for coffee pots
After washing put a good dose of baking soda in the bowl and cover it. Let it sit for a day or so, then wash it out.
You could try letting it sit overnight with a solution of warm water and baking soda. Rub the baking soda into the plastic first and then add the warm water. Be sure there is a couple of tablespoons of soda in the water.
I know it sounds weird but put some really cold water and some baking soda in the dish and rub a large spoon (a regular old STERLING SILVER spoon) all over it and the smell will be gone.
A good tip for getting garlic smell off of your hands as well is to rub your fingers on the spoon under cold running water and the smell magically disappears!
