My garbage leaked on the side of a jute hallway rug,its not washable, will the bacteria die out with time?
Question:
Answers:
Yes.
Bacteria need moisture to live. Let it dry out. Keep it dry and in a low humidity environment (40% relative humitidy or less if you can) and the bacteria will die.
If it will not do too much damage throw it in the dryer. That aill dyr it out and the lower humidity with heat will kill most of the bacteria quickly.
Use a can of a foam carpet cleaner. Test for colorfast in a hidden corner. Vacuum.
I agree with the first answer when you clean with some foam carpet cleaner you could spray it with some Lysol to kill the germs.
shot clean it...or spray it with spray and wash and wipe it down...
I agree with the drying out, but I would put it in the sun if that wouldn't harm it. The heat could also help kill any potential bacteria. I would also try prosolve, or a spot cleaner, that might help with the smell, if there is any, or woolite in warm water. Hope this link helps.
it will dry up but not go away, don't take changes with mold spores you'll end up not being able to breath, have it cleaned by a professional
