Hwo do I clean a mattress that has urine on it?

A new mattress is the only way to completely, 100% get rid of any urine in the mattress, but we have used a rug shampooer (the kind you rent from the grocery store) with a special enzymatic cleaner specifically formulated for "organic" stains - usually available at the same stand you rent the machine from. We actually sprayed on the cleaner (following the instructions), stood on the mattress like it was the floor and shampooed it the same way you would a rug, then extracted all the water with the machine, etc. We followed that with a leave-in pet urine remover spray (available from Petsmart or Petco, among other places) - and let it totally saturate at least as big as the urine spot was, if not a couple inches larger all the way around. Once the mattress dried, there was no detectable (by humans, anyway) smell or stain. However, it did seem like the dog could still smell it..she never did her business there again, but she'd jump up there and "snoof" at it like she was thinking something "might" still be there.
Anyway, not perfect and a lot of work, but definitely cheaper than a new mattress!!
Hope this helps.
New mattress.
wear a nappy to bed!
companies which clean carpet can do it... we had an unfortunate incident with a flatmate (damn furnished rooms) and Stain Busters got it out.
toss it and get a new one. it will always smell especially if its adult pee!
bleach and water dilute the bleach well add your favorite detergent even dish soap is good but don't ever use pinesol you can even use amonia But DO NOT MIX with BLEACH AMONIA AND BLEACH ARE DEADLY FUMES TOGHETHER USE SEPERATLEY AND DIFFERENT TIMES OF DAY WAIT 6 HOURS IN BETWEEN BLEACH AND AMONIA! bed will be smelling sweet in no time.
this is not abig problem.rest it 1 hour in surf water and clean it with your favorite detergent soap.
At home depot there are sprays to go with a Bissel upholstry cleaner. I think #1 is for household stains, which urine would fall into. just spray some on and use dry papertowls to let urine wick up into. Repeat as necessary
If you are real serious about getting it up, get a green machine by bissel (around $85) and use it. This will get it right up.
There is a product called odo ban that my cousin, who had a lot of pets, used that took care of pet and urine smells really well. I am sure it can be used the same as bleach and other cleaners would. I suggest you try that and a carpet cleaner with hose attachment.
Mattress are padded and the padding is the nasty culpret for odors. Bleach and other cleaners are ok to use. Try them all because it doesn't make any difference. It is still going to the mattress dump with other pee smelling sleepers. BUT---It will be clean when it arrives at the dump.. Put a bow on it for the trash collector--that will be appreciated.
Pour 3% hydrogen peroxide on it and let it air dry.
That is not something you really can clean, as you can't get inside the mattress. Buy a new one, why would you consider sleeping on this again?
Get a mattress cover if this could possibly happen again!
Get yourself some baking soda, take out sheets from mattress, and sprinkle heavely exactly on the urine spot, leave it on for about 24 hours.
The baking soda will cling to the mattress and harden, so will need a clean household brush - to brush it out, brush it out patiently and throw it in trash.
The smell will be gone, but you will have the stain-
To take off the stain on the mattress you can try about 1/2 cup laundry soap, 1/4 cup washing soda, and 1/4 borax.
Wash the spot -do not use all the solution for this spot, unless is a big one, wash it out with clean water and if you can place the mattress to dry in the sun.
Hope this helps, good luck :)
i tried this a few times when my kids had accidents.Nevertheless it seamed to work i scubed with dettol, then sprayed with dettol airfreshener good luk.
lik it off
Depends on what kind of urine! If it is cat there is no chance of getting the smell out...trust me! If it is dog you have to get an enzyme killer. If it is human you have to clean it like you would your carpet
