Toilet bowl cleaner was spilled on my hardwood floor and left a stain. What do I do to fix it?

Question:

Answers:
Most toilet bowl cleaners contain a strong base. Although by now, I suspect most of the damage is done, remove as much as possible. then use a weak acid to neutralize the remainder and remove it. Some weak acids to use are vinegar or juices of lemon or orange. Do not inhale any fumes of either the cleaner or the reaction.
Clean up thoroughly after the neutralization.
The stains will remain, but may be lessened somewhat.

i think that contains bleech in it so i dont think you can fix it easily, can you polish it back?? or you need to hide with some met or something..
When I worked as a floor refinisher, the only way I know of repairing this kind of damage is to resand and refininsh the floor. If you can, replacement of the damaged baords would be recommended. Unfortunately, I have never seen anything work. If the clemical stained your floor, there was no seal, like polyurathane protecting it and the chemical is deep within the cracks of the boards affected. If you do find something to mask the damage, I would be curious as to how you have done it. Usually you'll always see a remenace of the disaster.
