No. Vinegar and water will set the dye but it also removes the excess which will transfer to the white part. Get OxiClean or Sun Oxygen Cleaner(Found at Dollar General for 5.00) and use it in every load you wash these items, I use it in all my loads except the ones I use bleach, because this will prevent the excess dye from setting in on other items or even onto the white of the same garment. It will also keep your clothes brighter.
the vinegar thing is before you wash any clothes. Your going to want to soak whatever dark clothes you have in vinegar for around 2 hours or so, after this your dark clothes won't bleed their color. You are going to want to mix one gallon of warm water with 2 cups vinegar.
I still suggest not putting your dark color clothes with whites just because you will get dark lint on your whites, and thats just annoying ;o)
I would buy Woolite for black clothes and then the plain Woolite. I would use cold water and dry them on air dry in the dryer.
No , whites should only be washed in white .
some info. for you :
1. fill washer and add your detergent while it's filling .
2. Then add your white wash , I was taught to do white wash first , then dark wash .
And do your shirts and pants in seperate piles and then do it that way .
Then towels and wash rags .(vinegser is good , and can be used at times )Wash in cold water . I buy things that have colors and i dont have a problem .
