Liquid fabric softener scent disappears in the dryer!!?
Question:i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but i can never get my clothes to smell good after using a scented liquid fabric softener. could it be that tumble drying lessens the scent??

I have found that your nose gets use to the smell, everyone else smells it but you don't-kind of like when you have a good cologne. You can't smell it but everyone else can.
The liquid softener is crap. I've tried so many different ones and none of them smell when I'm done with laundry. Stick to the sheets.
You need to put the fabric softener into the load during the last rinse cycle and not during the wash with your detergent.
You might also have an issue with the detergent scent can cancelling out the fabric softener scent as well.
that always happens to me too, maybe we should use the dryer sheets instead, i think there better for the environment too and the liquid stuff makes your towels less absorbent which i don't think the sheets do as much!
