Is there a certain way to wash teddy bears in the washing machine?

I put our sons teddy in a zipped laundry bag (you can use a pillow case) - and to make sure that he gets all his puff back afterwards, I tumble dry him for about 1/2 hour on a low heat.
I found that just hanging him out to dry just didn't work and that all his stuffing would congregate in one part of him.
Another tip: buy an identical teddy if you have a young one, this way they don't know that one is being washed. Works a treat with my 22 month old every time.
Put them in a pillow case while they go through the wash :)

If I wash a teddy in the washing machine, I put it into a pillow case, which I then tie up. I usually try to line dry the teddy rather than tumble dry. Most soft toys say sponge clean only, but I have successfully washed several of my daughters favourites which do get a bit grubby.
I just throw them in there but if you want you can put them in a pillow case and tie it.
put the teddy bears on the gentle cycle cold water. let air dry NO DRYER ♥
If you put them in the wash, try to put them in one of those white lingerie bags that look like netting...that way they will not lose eyes.
u could wash it on low,but u would want 2 put it in something.i suppose that it also depends on the type of fabric the bear is made of.

Put the teddies in a pillow case or another soft case like (tablet bags for persil) if that makes sense and put them on a cotton or soft wash
they be fine in the wash put in apillow case and fabric softner come out like new
If they a old I wouldn't suggest it. The seams may rip or to much hair might come off. If they are not heirlooms, I would place them in a pillow case and wash on the gentle cycle. Don't use to much soap. Hang them out side to dry completely. The drying could take awhile. To re-shape them, if needed, whack them on a clean surface. I have washed them for years! Just toss them in the washer, cold, gentle cycle, and then pop them in the dryer. They do take a long time to dry well on the inside.
I also toss sneakers or almost any kind of shoe in the washer. Better than tossing them out!

What material? Antique material and old will deteriate=NO. Facial features. Glued will fall off & become lost or damaged, remove first & replace later. Plastic will melt if using dryer. Old style bears had stuffing of various materials including straw. These are hand wash only with brush and rag - - don't soak and by itself since color may come off then dry outside in wind or with a fan; no clothes dryer either.
I wash my cat's teddy bear frequently. Bear's eyes sewed on, no plastic, basic newer fur fabric that does not shrink & polyester stuffing plus the color does not come out of fur. So this one goes into washer & dryer with regular load.
Common sense regarding material inside & outside, glued or sewed items, does color come off (bleed) if wet, etc...

delicate wash then hang them on the line they smell so fresh and with the fabric softener lovely
Nah, just chuck en in, and put them on a wool wash, my poor panda is over 30 years old and still goes for the occasional spin!
I just put them in the machine on a quick 30 degree wash with a small amount of washing powder and some fabric softener. Dont, however, even attempt to wash proper mohair bears this way.
