Is there a special way to load a dishwasher?
Question:what try do the cups and plates go in? what direction does the silverware have to go etc..?
Answers:
Well all dishwasher´s are different, Small plates and cups go on the top tray, big plates go on the bottom, cutlery in the basket, you can put your pot´s in the back bit at the bottom, big spoons and other kitchen utensils can be pit on the top tray I think as long as thing´s are not piled up on top of each other , they will get washed
Amazingly some dishwasher instructions say to put the handles of flatware up, and some say to put them down.
I like the handles up, because when you are unloading the clean ones, your hands do not touch the part you eat with.
Glasses tend to get a whitish film called etching after
many trips trough the dishwasher. If your glassware is valuable, had wash it. Never put anything made of silver in the dishwasher with any other metal. Probably best to
hand wash it as well as the good glassware. Also China
may or may not do well in a dishwasher. If in doubt, hand wash. Many types of pots and pans should not go in a dishwasher, usually those with a non stick finish.
Cups go in the top rack between the rows of spokes.
Plates go in the bottom. My top rack is deeper on one side than the other, so I put dinner plates under the shallow end, and smaller plates under the deeper end. Bowls can go where they fit. Anything plastic is probably "top rack safe,"
and will break or melt in the bottom rack.
Basically, you have to experiment with your dishwasher and your dishes to get the best arrangement that gets things clean, and doesn't break or damage the dishes.
