Landlord temting my apartment building?

Question:Apt building being tented. any one else been thru it to reccomend anything i can do beforehand to do less work after? like if i put my dishes in garbage bags do i have to rewash? what about my matress will it soak up all the chemicals please help!

Answers:
I've tented for termites in my rentals. The company I used gave me a checklist which I gave to my residents. I remember they said to remove all food (and they gave us some type of special sealable baggies for the fridge and freezer), any cookware that was out in the open, toothbrushes and anything that goes in your mouth needed to be either removed or in a sealed container. I don't specifically remember any special instructions about the mattress, but if you are concerned just cover it with some plastic sheeting. But, my neighbors just had their house tented and their company used the high heat method which doesn't require as much preparation.

Yeah, pack up stuff in plastic bags! Ask about chemical reactions in a demanding way for your bed and furniture.

Maybe find a new place to live.
