How do you get blood out of blue jeans?
Question:
Answers:
If they haven't been washed and dried in the dryer yet.... Liberal dousing of Shout or some other prewash spray and wash in COLD water.
You may have to do it a few times, but it should come out.
If your jeans have been dried in the dryer, chances are its not going to come out. Heat sets the stain. Sorry!
If it is your own blood then your own saliva (spit) will remove it best. I know this is kind of gross sounding but your own enzymes work best on your own blood. It will work but not as well if it is someone else's blood. Try getting as much saliva in your mouth as possible and applying it to the spot. Let it sit for a minute or so and then pinch the fabric together and rub it back and forth. You should see some results even if the blood has dried. After that use regular liquid hand soap (not antibacterial kind though) and cool water to get the rest out. Good luck
my mom always uses the shout gel! she puts some on there and scrubs it with the top bristley part and lets them sit for a couple of days and then washes them in the washer in cold water!! and it comes out after the wash! (thats what my grandma told her to do b/c mom didnt know how to get anything out! and grandma is the queen of stain removal :) )
My husband is a hunter and often comes home with blood on his jeans. SHOUT works better than anything else I've tried. Don't put the jeans in the dryer until you are sure you've gotten as much of the blood washed out as you can. You may need to wash them several times.
Hydrogen peroxide, applied liberally. My vet taught me to use that to deal with "biologicals" - blood, etc - and it got the blood out of my husband's shirt without harming the shirt at all. Then wash the jeans in cold water. The HP might bubble a bit when it hits the stain--don't worry!
hydrogen peroxide! it really works...
hydrogen peroxide gets blood out if the stain has not been set by heat
first rinse well with COLD water then pour on peroxide & it will bubble let it stop & repeat until it not longer bubbles. this will not bleach the color
Next pour on stain remover of your choice ( I use Dreft spray, found in the baby aisle of your store...I believe it works the best on any bodily fluid stains) rub the material together very hard, let it soak about 5 minutes & then soak in a bucket of Biz and cold water over night. If you can still see the stain really well let it soak another day then wash in cold water.
When the washer is done check to see if the spot is gone if not do not put it in the dryer! repeat spray & soak procedure until it is gone
GOOD LUCK
Peroxide. It won't take the color out, but will get rid of the blood. I know this will work. My mother in law is a dialysis patient and she's always getting blood on her clothes, and this is what she was told to use. It really works. Good luck.
