Answers:
Well take everything out then you put in a bug spray let dry for approximately 30 min. ten put back everything and check your food for what might be causing the problem or if you get nothing then toss out every out dated item.

clean cabinets out.get rid of old food..then take spray cleaner and wash them out good.always get rid of food out of date....
take everything out of ur cabinets,,,spray with a good bug spray...anything you put back in ,rice, flour, sugar etc...should be in an air tight container...I keep a large one to put packages of small macaroni, spagetti in..everything has to be sealed in container, they can get into it even if it is sealed, sometimes it comes from grocery store like that..even oatmeal ,don't keep in box,,,keep in airtight container
You did not describe the type of bug. Other than using insectacide which is effective, I assume you are looking for a less toxic remedy. You can use a spinkling of boric acid around the perimeter /inside of your cabinets to kill roaches.Diatomaceous earth (DE) can also be sprinkled the same way and kills many soft bodied insects like fleas, ticks, ants, etc,. It has razor like edges that cut through the bugs as they crawl over it.Purchase at a garden supply store. Both preps are harmless to humans.First clean out & dry your cabinets thoroughly, Make sure to keep all food items closed with food ties, cap coverings, or place open items in plastic zip lock bags.Denying bugs food,& drink may be all you need to do.Also apply the above preps. around the perimeter of your home, windows, any openings to the outside, to discourage entry by uninvited guests. There are many more relatively non-toxic products you can use, some are messy, like the above, and some are not. However, I can not properly answer this question in anymore detail since I do not know which insect is you particular enemy at the moment. You mention rice, maybe you mean a weevil? They are soft bodied, I believe, so the DE will work. P.S. don't keep or purchase food beyond its expiration date. And check all other food items in the cabinet where the bugs are located for infestation. Better yet, if anything was open at the time, or easy to enter IE., the corner of a box opening be safe & throw it out, it may contain eggs too small to visualize. Many common household and personal use items are unpleasant to bugs, ie coffee grounds can be placed in water in a spray bottle & sprayed on the insects, the caffeine in the coffee is toxic to more than a few bugs. the tobacco from cigarettes can also be prepared & used in the same manner to kill quite a few insects, by delivering toxic amts. of nicotine. These 2 preps. are also toxic to animals so be cautious in using it. Using the cigarettes in this manner is a good way to demonstrate its toxicity to a loved one who smokes.Good luck, I hope this helps.
