How do you clean a shower curtain?

Question:i know this may be a really silly question but our shower curtain is white and really grubby how would i go about cleaning it? what cleaning products should i use?

Answers:
Toss it in the washer with bleach and a couple of white towels. Wash it as you would any other laundry item. If it's plastic, you could tumble it in the drier but for no more than 10 minutes, and on an air only setting. Just then hang it and let it air dry the rest of the way.

put it in the washer. that's what i do with mine! :)
I put mine in the washer with detergent and bleach - gentle cycle - hang to dry.

Or just wash it with the same stuff in your tub. (It'll get your tub clean too.)
best way is to wash in machine just with normal non bio powder
Put it in your washing machine on a rinse or pre-wash cycle with a cup of bleach. Then hang on a clothesline to dry in the sun. Alternatively just wash in the normal way with the general run of laundry, but perhaps not with whites.
Washing machine works
but it on a hot wash but dont put any ariel in it as when it up in the shower it with foam up
throw it in the washer with a couple of towels. then lay it flat to dry outside. gets it super clean. you can use regular detergent or throw in a bit of bleach. use old or white towels if you use bleach. works every time! good luck.
put in the washing machin with washing powder and bit of oxi bleach

also put in a old towel it will help to get the dirt off
I think it depends on the type of material its made of. If its a plasticy one I think all you can do is give it a clean with a sponge. If its material you could bung it in the washing machine. If in doubt go to a shop that sells them look for one similar and read the care instructions on the pack.

Mine is absolutely minging at the mo but I'm lazy so have decided just to get a new one.
If there is mold on it, soak it in a bucket of bleach and water. Then put it on a flat surface and wipe both sides down with a wet sponge.
you take it offf and pit it in the washing machine.its as simple as that
I take the shower curtains down. Lay them down on a flat area. Clean off the soap scum with spray foam cleaner, like Dow Scrubbing bubbles. Then I throw them in a washing machine with half the usual amount of detergent. Mine are plastic so I take them outside and shake off the water.
pop it in the washing machine on a low heat
The white could be mineral build-up from hard water. You may need to use white vinegar or a product made for cleaning minerals such as Lime Away.
If the shower curtain in question is a plastic one, just throw it away and buy a new one!
some shower curtains are really good and can be washed in the washing machine ,which is what i have got as i also had a problem trying to clean shower curtains that were not machine washable
I put mine in the washer with alittle bit of bleach and liquid detergent and a couple of towels. Wash on the gentle cycle. Take it out and shake it- as not all of the water will spin out. Sometimes I will just hang it back up wet- or put it in the dryer on gentle setting -low heat for about a minute or so. I stay right there and check it occassionaly. then hang it back up.
p.s. remove your hooks before washing ;-) and I put both my cloth and plastic in the washer- just use the gentle cyle and warm water.
If this shower curtain is cloth then add one cup of White Vinegar to the wash water hottest water the curtain can handle add a old white towel or one that does not bleed or fall apart for even better cleaning and balancing your machine add one more towel, if this curtain is vinyl then just add two towels to the wash water in cool or warm would be fine with your detergent and a half cup of vinegar in the wash water to help soften the soap scum and hard water spots, you can add more if you wish especially if this curtain is really grungie with soap scum and hard water spots, when this full cycle is done just hang up to dry in the shower again along with some ventilation such as a window open or the bathroom door left open or line dry is okay. Good Luck !
A grubby one, I would throw in the garbage. I have a shower curtain & liner. The curtain hangs outside the tub & doesn't get dirty. The liner does, then I get another one at the dollar store. I spend 2$ rather than 2 hours TRYING to get it clean.
The best type of shower curtains are the ones made of polyester as they are machine washable if you clean it about once every 2 months you shouldn't get a disrty shower curtain anyway. Hope this helps.
I like to put mine either in the washer on gentle with some bleach to kill the mold growth, or put in the tub with some solution. I find it actually easier to wash it in the tub becuase after I rinse it, I can just hang it back up without walking through the house lugging dripping plastic.
i wash mine in the washing machine on perm press cycle. Just don't dry it in the dryer. It works great
Fill the bath half full with cold water and add 2 bleach tops of bleach. Leave for 1hrs. After 30min put some rubber gloves on and "stir". After 1hr, rinse either under the shower or tap.
Mine is just a frosted liner, so I just throw it in the washer with bleach. Ummm, no need to dry, though- it's going back in the shower!!!
That´s just it , You don´t. No matter what you use to clean it , you can clean with bleach , wash it in your washing machine , but the stain´s will still be there. I can´t remember how many new shower curtains I have bought , but it was a lot. I got so fed -up I put shower doors. Much easier to clean , and saves a lot of money
throw it away and buy another, not worth the elbow grease it takes.
in the washin machine
I'd get a new shower curtain!
with the help of brush and soap.
try soaking in the bath with really hot water and add some dishwasher powder and washing up liquid swish around a bit and woila!!
