How do i remove burned stickiness off of an iron?

Question:

Answers:
heat it up to cotton setting and keep rubbing it over a wet towel.

There is this stuff called Goof Off, it really works. Also sometimes nail polish remover works too
Use "Goo Gone" you can buy it at walmart. It works great for sticky stuff.
Use a brillo pad, but don't scrub to hard. If the iron is a little warm it should come right off.
Try ironing over a fabric softener sheet .. this might help..
Spray WD-40 on it and scrape it off.
Try a knife you don't use anymore, and scrape it off after the iron is cooled down. But it its really on there, poke holes in the little circles on the iron's surface, and try and peel it off from there.

But it all depends on what's on there and how long. If nothing I said works, try buying a new one.
Use orange oil (goo gone) and scrub lightly with fine steel wool or a paper towel. Then wash it with water and dry.
Iron a piece of aluminum foil sprinkled with salt.
Like the one answer WD40.
