Modal.??? help??

Question:so i have this dress i have to wear tommorow. i washed it and the tag says 'lay flat to dry' so i hung it up. when i took it off the hanger all the elastic had stretched! so i was thinking to rinse it and dry it in the drying machine but the tag says it is 60% cotton and 40% Modal. so i'm wondering if anyone knows what model is and if i can dry it in the machine and it won't get ruined. THANKS!

Answers:
Modal is currently called the new wonder fabric. Made from beech wood chips, this fabric combines the benefits of natural fiber and the fantastically soft feel of modern microforms. It is a new kind of natural fabric developed by Austrian Lenzing Company. With the hygroscopicity of cotton and the luster of silk, it remains soft and lustrous after several washes.

Jersey and other fabrics made of modal, modal/cotton, modal/spandex, modal/lycra are our mature and regular products. You may either order our recommended modal fabrics or we may manufacture as per your samples and specifications.

My opinion:
Lay flat, means just that, lay it on a flat surface. Hanging it up puts pressure on elastic, which will make it stretch out. An easy fix may be to simply run it under water and lay it flat to dry. In the morning, run it through the dryer only for a short time, to finish the drying process. This shouldn't ruin the article of clothing, but if you run it through the dryer after just washing it, it will most likely shrink.

Modal can be pretty sensitive to drying, not necessarily for shrinkage, but because it fuzzes pretty easily. I would run it through the rinse cycle, then lay it flat on a bath towel and shape it to how it should look. Take another bath towel and lay it over top and press wit your hands to try to get as much moisture out of it. Remove the top towel and let it dry. If you have a/c it should be dry by tomorrow morning.

If you are really worried about having it dry in time, you could probably get away with tumbling it on LOW for maybe 15 minutes to take the bulk of the moisture out of it. Then lay it out like I described above.
idk what u mean.
