Can you get the smell of cat urine out of wood floors?
Question:if so how??
Answers:
To remove urine stains and odors from your wood floor, first blot the area with an absorbent cloth to remove any excess urine. The newest technology uses peroxide and detergents to penetrate the soiled area to remove the stain and deactivate the odor. Simply spray a product such as PAWS - Pet Accident Washup Solution on the soiled area, and then allow it to penetrate for approximately five minutes. Wipe clean. Another option to try is to wipe the stained area with cool water; blot dry. Next, blot the stained area with undiluted white vinegar. Wipe again with cool water and blot dry. With either of the above methods, do not saturate the wood or allow any liquid to stand on the surface for any length of time. Wipe with cool water and blot dry. Good Luck! =)
Try washing them good with murphy's oil soap
not really. no matter what you do, a cat will always be able to detect it. replace the sections soiled.
Yes, but it will be alot of work. My dad had the same problem and he sanded, stained and revarnished them and there are no signs at all. If its just a couple of spots you might be able to sand those spots and try to match the stain and blend the varnish to match. How old are the floors?
Spray floor with a lemon based cleaner or lemon scent, cats don't like anything with citric acid and give the cat another place to be interested in.
another thing is to sprinkle the area with catnip, then they are too drunk to wizz.
If that fails ask yourself if your cat is fixed, fixed cats mark less than unfixed cats for he most part.
