Little dots of powder soap cling to my clothes when I do laundry?
Question:We just moved into a new apartment and whenever I do laundry little bits of soap stick to the clothes. I've tried rinsing each load an extra time, but that doesn't help. Please tell me how to get rid of this without switching to liquid soap.

It could be one of 2 things:
1. You may be using too much detergent in the wash. Cut back on the amount you use. You could probably get away with half the amount you normally use.
2. The water is not warm enough to dissolve the detergent. Try adding the detergent slowly to the hottest available water BEFORE you put in the clothes. Then switch the dial to the temperature you need for you r laundry.
Try adjusting the amount of detergent you use. It's a lot easier and much less work and guessing.
thats why i dont use powder i use liquid to me its a lot better and cleans clothes very good
you might be packing the washer too full. also, if you put the soap in the bottom of the machine before adding clothes, and let some water get in there first, you can 'swish' it around to dissolve the powder before adding clothes.
Or you could just go to liquid detergent and eliminate the problem altogether, I use liquid, and it works great. (Apple mango tango smells really good too :)
I used to have this problem too. The best thing I figured out to fix it was to put in the soap first, before the clothes and get some water in there too -- this help dissolve it before it can stick to the clothes. If it doesn't all melt, then use something to stir it around a little bit -- but be sure to use that spoon or whatever only for laundry, don't eat with it anymore. You can get a cheap one at the dollar store.
Anyhow, just try to melt the soap before you put the clothes in (but don't get too much water in first, or the clothes will be really hard to get in there! Maybe put like 3 or 4 inches of water and mix it up with the soap.)
This worked really well for me. Hope it helps you.
definately put the powder in first, but also use warm or hot water. powder doesn't dissolve well in cold water.
wash in a warmer water... the soap is not desolving all the way.
I would try to add less detergent while not overloading the washer. I have a super size washer and always add the powder to the bottom, add the clothes then water and I have no problems. The temperature of the water really doesn't matter that much to the detergent, warm and or hot water will dissolve it faster, but will not hold any more detergent dissolved than cold water over the cycle... I would try three-quarters of what you normally use and judge from there. It may take several loads to find the right amount for you. Provided that you are not adding too much clothes for the washer to handle... Good luck.
When you tun on the washer and it is filling up, you put in your powder and swirl it around a few times to dissolve it. Then you can put the rest of your clothes in. You could also switch to liquid as you won't have to worry about that then.
