How can I get Sharpie permanet marker off of things?

Question:I accidently drew a line on my bed board.how can I get it off? It really bugs me!

Answers:
Try fingernail polish remover. Try a small spot first, so you don't hurt the finish. Afterwards, wipe clean with a damp rag.

The key word in permanent!
rubbing alcohol.
goo be gone(its a cleaner meant for such things). Some people swear by rubbing alcohol, and its ability to remove permanet marker.
Goo Gone works wonders, you can get the product almost anywhere. Good Luck
MAGIC ERASER. !!! it wont leave a rub spot either ... Works like a charm! I swear by it!
Draw over it with a dry erase marker, and then rub the dry erase mark off. It will remove the permant marker spot too.
I use alcohol. Just dip a cloth in some and it should remove it.(thats rubbing alcohol) not alcohol that one drinks.
All of the above sound good, I've always used cheap hairspray. Good luck!
Spray with hairspray and wipe off.
I swear by WD40. You just have to be careful of the over-spray. It is an oil, so it will stain fabrics. Go to an area where you can spray it onto a cloth without worrying about it getting on anything else (over the kitchen sink or go outside). Rub the are with the cloth but then make sure you rinse with clear water afterward so it doesn't eat away at the finish.
