I need to know why my washing machine will not quit pumping water in, it won't stop when it should?
Question:Recently just had piece of cloth stuck in hose and into pump, got it out was not ripped or chewed up so I don't think any damage was done to pump or anything stuck in pump

Does your washer continue to fill in the rinse cycle? If so, you pushed the drain hose into the drain too far! The drain hose MUST bend above the washer lid... recommended that the drain stand pipe is at least 3' high... If the end of the hose is in the drain water when the washer starts to fill in the rinse cycle, a syphoning action is created and the washer never fills!Just make sure that the END of the hose is in the drain, and will not come out. DO NOT duct tape it so that it cannot leak, as this too creates a syphon action!! If it should leak out of the drain, the drain is stopped up!
Hope this helps.

Very likely the float that switches the fill valve was damaged.
get a new one jk idk
hey, this is a simple problem so don't panic but don't keep trying until you ruin the floor in your laundry room. the inlet valve or the water level switch will be the culprit. there is a little clear plastic hose that goes from the tub to the water level switch, check for damage or if it has came loose, if so put a piece of tape on it so you can get all of your laundry caught up and then get a new piece of tubing. to do this you will need to first unplug it and then take the panel off that has the level switch, and all of the other switches. to check the rest of the tube you will need to take the top off, don't panic yet, it has hinges on the back just take the front loose and the whole top will lean against the wall behind the washer while you check the hose. if the hose is off drain the water put the hose back on and wash your clothes. if not then look for a place where the hose has has rubbed into or just rubbed a hole in it from vibration. if that doesn't work pull the plate off where the hoses go into the back of the washer. there you should see two little valves with two wires going to each one, make sure that the wires are all attached and that they have a good connection. if you are washing with just cold water try using just the hot setting when you think the water should shut off. if the water shuts off at the right level when you use only the hot setting ( not warm ) then you probably have a bad cold water valve. they are not hard to repair, if you need advice e-mail saegley@yahoo.com or call 3192573335 after four p.m. central standard. it is just about as easy to buy a new one as to rebuild an old one but sometimes if you take an old one apart it will just need to be cleaned or have a new rubber seal put in it to work like new i hope that i have helped you to get through this crisis, if you need help give me a call, good luck, scott.
