How can i get rid of urine odor from bathroom floor?
Question:i mop using pinesol and clean the bowel all around using clorox wands but there is this urine odor still there. is there any product i can use to clean the restroom that leaves it smelling clean and fresh?
Answers:
Bleach
I think Pinesol smells like urine. I use Lysol liquid disinfectant liquid cleaner for floors.
I'd hate to have my bowel cleaned Wit Clorox.
Wash the floor with detergent and bleach. Let it dry and spread a box of baking soda on the floor to deodorize it. Leave at least a whole day without getting it wet.
use straight bleach leave it on the floor for a few minutes and then clean it on your hands and knees with a scrub brush and very hot water as hot as you can stand.then use a rag and clean the toilet inside and out and then if you want some sweet smelling stuff use it
the best thing i could suggest would be 1part liquid bleach and 3parts hot water. wash with a clean mop and clean bucket and allow to dry thoroughly..vinegar and water are suppose to be good cleaner 2..goodluck
Try cleaning the floor with Mr Clean and water. Then rinse with vinegar and water.
An environmentally friendly method would be to use this all purpose cleaner that I use all over my house to get rid of odors, dirt and grime:
1 gallon water, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup baking soda. Mix all ingrediants. I store it in a big bucket, and use it to refill a squirt bottle.
The water binds it all together. The vinegar disinfects. The lemon juice is a bleach, and a deoderizer. The baking soda is a mild abrasive.
A note though: you can't use this on anything except a white floor because the lemon may bleach things.
Try mopping floor and clean the toilet and around toilet with the product called Lysol with bleach. Once it is dry spray Febreze around the toilet area. You can spray Febreze on the floor too but be careful until it drys because it may be slippery. After it drys, if the floor is sticky from the Febreze then re-mop with Lysol with bleach and your problem should be solved! (If the flooring is old then the urine may have soaked in. If you think this may be the case, then spray the Lysol with bleach on the floor and around toilet and let it sit for about 10 minutes before you mop. Just be careful because the floor will be slippery and don't forget to have ventilation when using bleach. Don't mix any other cleaners with the Lysol bleach because it could produce dangerous fumes.) Good luck!
Use hot water a clean mop head and use lysol disenfectant all purpose cleaner on the floor that should help the smell... Also, wipe around the underside of the bowl...
You failed to indicate whether your floor is wood, carpeted, tiled w/ceramic or vinyl,,etc..Be careful using some products suggested in other answers as they can be dangerous to you as well as the floor and it's covering. Buen suerte..
Try using a mixture of 1 cup of white vinegar and a gallon of water. If you have little boys in the house also wipe down the wall with the mixture. They some times miss.
It is possible that the urine has made its way underneath the toilet. Possibly you need a new wax ring. I know of no way to get it out from under there without removing the toilet.
I see that lots of folks have posted really great answers already.
As I have nothing new to add (with regard to cleaning products/methods), I'll just say this:
If I had urine smell in my bathroom, I'd go to the source: I'd find out who is peeing on the floor, and then I'd do one of three things. I'd either 1. retrain them in the lively art of peeing IN the pot, or, 2. monitor the culprit's bathroom use, and when they leave wee on the floor, I'd make them clean it up themselves, or, 3. I'd forbid the careless person(s) to use my facilities... Any one of these would work. One thing I would NOT do, is continue to put up with nasty bathroom habits that cause pee smell in my home. Ew.
