My room smells like dog crap, from the carpet and it basically has made a permanant smell. How do I get rid...

Question:of the smell and what could I do with the carpet?

Answers:
vinegar.
removes every smell. treat it and soak it up. Viola!

Get new carpet and padding.
Scrub the area with vinegar. Vinegar gets out most bad smells.
rent one of those red rug doctors for a day. they do a great job on carpets.
Get it steam cleaned and/or buy the carpet deoderiser powder that leaves a fresh scent and removes pet odors.

Good luck.
Lysol
Rent a carpet shampooer and shampoo the carpet several times. Then you can mix a product called ODOBAN with fresh water and put it in the shampooer in the place where the hot water and chemicals would typically go. Shampoo it one last time with the Odoban mixture. That way the Odoban will get down to the padding where the smell is. I buy Odoban at Sam's Club. It has eucalyptus, a natural deodorizer. I used this in my dad's house for pet urine and it took the smell right out. (And the smell has not returned.)
one word, Frebreze.
i had the smell too but i just threw the carpet and put some air freshener then cleaned the carpet with carpet cleaner because my carpet was on top of carpet so that did the work.
an enzyme cleaner for pet stains will take it out. Thats available for many carpet cleaners and the rug doctor.

There are also some cleaners that you spray on , let dry and then vacuum up.
try smell b gone you can find it at most pet stores
first u get ride of the carpet (dont be cheap buy a new one) then u leave ur dog in ur backyard
or Smoke Away. It is in an aerosol black & white can (I am not sure where to get it I got it from my grandma) It gets rid of any smell. I used it once on the area of the floor my dog sleeps 6 monthes ago& every time I vacuum I smell cinnamon instead of the dog
Replace the carpet
Replace the carpet. Stains and smells may seem to disappear by using those consumer cleaners; but all they do is mask the smell and scratch the surface. Stains and smells are permanent. If you look underneath the carpet you will see the stained patches in the fiber mat that holds the rug together- or worse the stain is embedded in the under pad.
You probably got to get rid of the carpet and the underlay. And inspect the plywood floor. It may have an issue as well and you may need to pull that up and resheath it with new plywood.
Either replace the carpet or have it thoroughly cleaned and deodorized by a pro.

If it is not really clean the smell will never go away.
Likely the pad is what is persisting to smell. I'm sorry I dont know the name of the carpet cleaner but it is at Petco, a white bottle with red lettering, specifically for urine and pet poop b/c it contains enzymes. It works very well, but will very slightly lighten the carpet. The best thing about it also is that it eliminates the scent of urine and feces that your pet would otherwise smell. The pet will return to the area if it can pick up the scent. By eliminating the old scent, the pet shouldnt return to that area.
I have to stress that b/c the room smells so bad from the carpet that you have to work hard possibly cleaning, letting it dry and cleaning again. And you'll have to use the cleaner full strength.
Our dog and cat made an 4'x8' "run" on our carpet that made our carpet look and smell horrible. The smell was terrible and embarrassing when you walked into the house. That carpet cleaner worked miracles! It restored the carpet beautifully.
hey lime ,
don't listen to all of those dumb heads , get rid of the dog , or teach it to go outdoors ,it's an animal they are only as smart as you teach it.
shampoo it with vinegar and baking soda it will remove the smell
If I were you I'd take a box of baking soda and sprinkle it all over the carpet. Open all the windows in the room and leave the baking soda for a couple of hours. Then vacuum it up. I'd get the carpet shampooed as soon as I could if I were you.
