Where should i dispose frying oil after i'm done with it?
Question:i know i shouldn't dump it in the sink, i usually put it in a bottle and throw it in the garbage but i don't usually have an empty bottle, can i dump it in the toilet? is that bad for the plumbing pipes? thanks
Answers:
i assume you have a small amount from home cooking-don't pour in sink or in toilet, some oils when cooled will harden and clog pipes.
you should save an empty milk container or big soft drink bottle to fill with cooled waste oil.
any restaurant that fries food will have a grease dumpster behind it.
i can't believe they would object to such a small amount from you and it will be disposed of properly.
No don't do that...over time the fats will thicken within the plumbing and you will clog it....just like what would happen in the kitchen sink.
If you don't have an empty jar , can or coffee can , pour it into a ziploc and toss in the trash.
dumping it in the toilet is probably just as bad as the sink. keep an empty coffee can and lid on hand to pour it in and dispose when it gets full.
I usually do the same thing but am pretty sure my super said that it isn't good to put it down the toilet either. I have put it down the sink at times but have run hot water down the drain for awhile afterwards.

Cool it in the fridge, (after it has reached room temp.), scoop it into a plastic shopping bag or similar, double bag it to prevent leaks, and throw it out in your regular trash.
putting it into the toilet isn't much different from putting it in the sink. I keep an empty coffee can under my sink and add oil to it when i need to. Then from time to time I replace the can with a fresh one.
I save lots of jelly and pickle jars, cleaned out, lids and all. Poof...problem solved.
on the grass in your backyard.
This will only work if you have a baby. I open up a few used disposable diapers (without bm's!) in the trash can. Pour the oil into a few diapers and they will soak it up in seconds! No, you don't want to pour oil down the toilet. When it chills it builds up like plaque in your arteries and clogs them. A build up in your main pipes is more difficult to correct.
I use an empty coffee can. I let it cool and get solid. Then trash it.
Grease and oil can clog the pipes so no to the sink and toilet.
Dont dump it down any pipes. If you have a coffee can, empty jar or even one of those water bottles put it in there after its cooled and then dispose of it in the garbage. My father in law lives in the country and he digs a hole dumps the oil then covers the hole up. I use a coffee can, baby formula can whatever I have around. we dont fry much a baby formula can can last us almost a year we dispose of it when its full or starts to smell.
do not put it in the toilet unless it has gone through youre mouth
there is 2 different ways you can put it in an old jar or butter container put it in the fridge til it gets hard then put it in the trash or dump it in the sink but make sure u have cold water running at the same time if u don't then it could ruin the drain.
