How can i get rid of an old coffee stain on clothes?
Question:i have got a coffee stain on a top, i have washed it but it still wont come out any suggestions ??
Answers:
I actually had to get a coffee stain out of a pink sweater not too long ago. I was told that the coffee wasn't actually the problem. It was the milk that I had put in the coffee that was giving me such a hard time.
It took a lot of patience, but it eventually came out. You use cold water to soak it. Then you gently rub in some Tide. Rinse with cold water. With a Q-Tip, dab vinegar and let stand for a few minutes. Rinse with cold water. With a Q-Tip, dab with hydrogen peroxide and let stand for a few minutes. Rinse with cold water. Repeat until the stain is gone. I think it took me the better part of the afternoon to get the stains out.
If your garment has color, DO NOT USE BLEACH. Never use undiluted bleach on any piece of fabric unless you want a hole to develop there.
Martha Stewart has some helpful laundry stain removal hints on the web so I've included the link.
Good luck!
Make a paste of Woolite and water, place on both sides and allow to set. Then wash. If that does not work I would suggest you try one of those Clorox pens because otherwise the clothes are ready for the rag bag.
Mix a little Biz Bleach and water into a watery paste and slop it on there. It's color safe. Let it dry and then wash with regular detergent. This saved an entire load of khaki uniform pants when my nephew's pen exlpoded in the wash. Good luck!
The stain is set in so the best procedure is to try some oxy clean, work it into the stain well and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then rinse well. If that doesn't do it, buy another top.
Use one of those tide/bleach pens. Works fabulous - even if the clothing has been washed already with the stain!
I can suggest this , cold water and salt, a bit like when you remove blood stains. soak your top in cold water, remove from the water and add salt . Leave like this until you see the stain lifting , it might take time but it should come out, always works with dried in blood. just remember to use cold water , the more heat you apply the harder it is to remove stains
Dawn dishing washing liquid with oxy works wonders. Put some onto the stain and rub (without water) until you get a pasty lather. Toss into the washer and let sit about 30 minutes and start a load of clothes using warm water does the trick. I use this stuff on everything. Even pots and pans that you would normally let sit until you are ready to clean. Bammm! when you clean them the ugly cooked on mess just wipes away.
