How do i get butter out of my top?
Question:I dropped butter all down my light blue top and its stained! its been washed with vanish but didn't work? is there any tricks to removing the stain? Any help would be much appreciated as the top is brand new and i've only worn it once!

Try rubbing a drop of neat washing-up liquid onto the spot, and then putting it on a hot wash.

Brown paper over it and iron.
Use OXY adn hopefully you did not dry it. If you sent this item to the dryer...then it is ruined
Washing up liquid when you first do it normally works. If not you can get this stain sticks from asda you get different ones for different types of stains try the washing up liquid first though!
I'm not too sure if this will work now as its been washed, but if you sprinkle talcum powder onto the area with the butter, the talc absorbs the grease. Then after about 10 minutes, it should just pick off.
Grease stains? I find that putting a bit of talcum powder on it first, then washing as normal works well.
my gran used to put a brown paper bag you get from a grocers,& put it on the stained bit,& put a hot iron over the bag to obsorbe the fat from the garment onto the bag.
Try it,used to work with my old school shirts.
try blotting it out first then rub a bit of fairy liquid on and wash
try moistening the stained area...and then putting a bit of flour over it...the flour should dry up all the grease...i think u might be able to use talcum powder as well..but its not gonna come out first time...its gonna be a series or washing and then repeating the flour process a couple of times...!!

Citrus cleaner is quite effective on grease.
Try liquid dish soap. Put it directly on the stain and gently rub. Let it set for a few minutes and rewash. If that doesn't work use "Pine Sol" cleaner the same way.

I know this sounds daft, but spray with WD40, you will have to wash it a couple of times but it does work.
oh yea husband always gets butter on colored t shirts, i put dawn dishwasing liquid on it. launder as usual, ive even left it for couple of days before washing it no ill effects,hubby says i am a laundry goddess.
