Getting rid of fruit flies...?
Question:when we came home from a float trip we found tons of fruit flies. everything was clean but apparently we forgot to run the sink disposal.
we would like to use a bug bomb as a last resort, as we have a dog and cat and dont really have a place for the cat to stay. most importantly my wife is pregnant and i dont want her in the house unless at least twice the safety period has passed and has been aired out. but again as a last resort we could.
my idea was a bug zapper after we go to bed, it would stink for a few hours but that i can take care of.
we have cleaned everything, but now they have spread all over the house...

I agree with the cup of apple cider vinegar. The sit on the rim and test the waters and end up drowning themselves. I've had pretty good success with this method. I didn't completely rid myself of them but greatly reduced the amount I've seen by at least 75%.
Get a container and fill it with apple cider vinegar. They can't resist.
Fruit flies only stick around when there's something they're attracted to. You probably have a rotting banana or apple somewhere that you haven't found. Keep looking.
put yo fruit somewhere safe but not where they can get bad just somewhere away from the fruit flys cuz they r gonna smell tht fruit either way so hide it basically lol
The fly paper that hangs from the ceiling and sticks to the window. It worked for us, but it might take awhile. Also, the desposal does it every time... man, we had them bad and those things suck.
Don't worry, this too shall pass. Quicker than you think, really. Spray ant/bug killer into your disposal. Make sure any fruit you have is stored in the fridge, at least for a while. If you have a little closet you keep your trash in, spray the trash too and keep the door closed. Keep sink really clean. They will eventually go away.
If you have a microwave in your kitchen...put a nasty wet rag in there...or some nasty fruit.leave the door to the microwave open...when theres a good deal of them in there shut the door and turn it on...they explode...
Clean your microwave...repeat the process until they are gone... :)
Are you sure they are fruit flies. They could also be gnats. They live of the dead roots and soil from your house hold plant´s. That´s if you have household plant´s. Leave the plants without water ,or better still put them outside , You will soon get rid of them. Just a suggestion
