How do you wash a white chefs coat?
Question:I am a 23 year old male so I have no idea how to get my chefs coat as white as my ex-girlfriend could. What secrets does she know that she's not telling me?
Answers:
I'll never understand why they insist on white. I had white aprons when I waited tables that got so gross.
A 20 minute soak in hot water with about 1/2 to 1 cup of bleach, (You can throw them in the bathtub or kitchen sink for this) followed by a wash in hot water will usually do the trick. I always put bleach in the washing machine, too, just to be extra sure.
there is a product called mrs stewarts white something or another and it whitens white. But if you get it don't rea out cause it is a blue liquid you poor in the wash or you can waah your clothes on cold with a soap with bleach and then wash again right after that wash on hot with the same soap with bleach plus add more bleach.
Well I don't know the secret, but I do know that you can always take it to the cleaners for a very low price.
When I want to get something super white, I soak it for a while with OxyBrite or other oxygen bleach. Bluing, which someone else mentioned, does work but just juse a tiny amount in your rinse water.
If you live in an area where there is iron in the water, you probably notice that all your whites turn a bit yellow. If that's the case, you need to use a water softener. try calgon in the wash and rinse water.
Pre-soak in dishwasher detergent. Cleans the dishes, right? I've done it for years.
