Which is the best upright domestic carpet cleaner?

Question:i.e.hoover dyson etc

Answers:
I would say Kirby's are the best; however I refuse to pay $1800 for one. Lucky for me, the Kirby salesman demonstrated one on my couch, thereby saving me the hassle of getting a one-year supply of shed cat hair off.

They do pick up pet hair like nobody's business; Oreck cleaners work well too.

If you are looking for carpet steam cleaners, I really like my Hoover model. I forget which model... but it's fantastic whatever it is.

I don't know about 'the best' but I find the Dyson very efficient and satisfying to use as you can actually see the dirt being sucked up. Encourages lazy vacuumers like me to be more thorough!
i swear by dyson. never lets you done
Deffinitely Dyson, but if you are looking for a less expensive upright vacuum I would suggest Panasonic upright vacuum, it is less expensive and picks up better than most uprights, I know I have had many uprights and this Panasonic does the best for less, and it has lasted the longest and is very light and maneuvers very easily around corners and under furniture, I am so happy with my Panasonic that I am planning on buying another one soon, but will purchase the the bagless model of this brand instead. Good Luck !
I have a dyson and it's great, cleans the carpet well plus i have a dog and it picks all those messy hairs up.
I say Oreck, I have had mine for ten years now it is used every day and I have three dogs, it is the best hoover I have ever had and I have not had any problems with it and I am only on my second belt. Great hoover would not be without it.
BISSELL IS THE BEST
The one that hospitals and the best hotels use is a Sebo. It is German so the engineering is brilliant, will work flat to the floor for going under furniture ( try getting a Dyson to do that! ) and can come apart so you have a small hand held vac for the stairs/car/ cleaning curtains.
I hope I am not being too rude here, but from your name I am guessing you over 21!, so you don't want a heavy machine to lug about. The Sebo is very light.
I am on my second one because my dear old mother spied mine. She kept dropping hints that her old vac was too heavy, I'm not as young, your dad used to do it etc etc. I'm sure you can guess the outcome.
John Lewis sell them for £225 or online for £179.
Only vacuum that rated for asthma suffers.
I would have to say the Dyson.
I have had 2 of these and i would never go back to using any old domestic cleaner.

Give me a Dyson any day.
It's got to be the Dyson I have two dogs it gets all the dog hair up easily
