What are some really big chores that I could do?
Question:I put in an application to work this summer, but I didn't get called for an interview or anything. I'm only 14. I have a weekly allowance, but my parents are willing to pay me extra if I do really big chores around the house... so what are some good ideas?
Answers:
well lets see, im a merry maid, literally(ever see the commmercial?) and I know people pay big money on a regular basis for things like cleaning the bathrooms, especially that(scrub out the tub and shower and clean the mirrors and the potty and wash the floors real well) you could also dust and vacuum, wash the woodwork throughout the house with Murphys oil soap, it'll smell great. Then as a mother i know when i get home from work, i wish I didnt have to take out the trash, clean the garage, weed the garden or mow the lawn to name a few chores. So as you can see the possibilities are endless and i can guarantee at your age your parents will be thrilled just to know that you want to do extra work for money, most kids your age dont want to do anything and they expect everything. So good luck
Vacuuming, cutting grass, taking out garbage, doing dishes. All four things your parents hate I assure you.
Empty the dishwasher, clean the kitchen floors, clean the windows, wash the cars, clean the fridge, clean/organize the garage...ther's tons of stuff that mom's and dad's appreciate.
If your parents work; or even if they don't . i would say start dinner, make the salad; start the potatoes ,set the table,do the dishes; sweep the kitchen floor after dinner; mop it ; vacuum.
do the laundry; put it in the dryer; get it out fold it, put it away. scrub the toilets, clean the sinks.
I have teenagers that I always put to work..here are some ideas:
clean the garage for your dad
plant and maintain a flower garden for your mom
Rent a carpet cleaner and shampoo the rugs
organize the junk drawer,
walk the dog,
babysit,
have the morning coffee ready in the morning, and dinner ready when your parents get home.
Keep your room spotless,
do the laundry.
The list is endless.just look around at all the jobs your mom does every day, and do some of them without her asking you to.
cut the grass, clean the bathroom, vacuum/shampoo the floors, clean out the garage. Organize your closet and room...donate all the stuff that you don't use to a charity, or if you want, have the whole family do the same thing. Then, you can have a yard sale. That would bring in even more money!
Have you thought of the chores that your parents don't like to do? Try tackling those jobs, weeding the garden, clean out the basements or attic , help rearrange things.
