Best way to prevent towels from getting lint-y in the dryer?
Question:...besides dryer sheets, and always cleaning the lint screen. I do that already. But whenever I get out of the shower and I'm all clean and wet, my towels stick little lint balls all over me! Takes that "clean" feeling right away! I hate it. Do those dryer balls really work? Or what if I just line-dried them instead, would they still have lint?
Answers:
Run the dryer on a lower heat level.
The lint is attracting to the towels because of static electricty, and that is propelled by a lot of heat in the dryer. Try running it on medium or medium-high heat, and see if there is a difference.
Don't use Fabric Softener in the wash.
You should wash and dry them in a garment bag. You can get them from supermarkets or kmarts.
I don't ever have this problem but here are some suggestions:
Only buy 100% cotton towels.
Do not dry your towels with synthetic fabrics - this creates static.
If you line dry your towels, use a fabric softener in the wash cycle. Your towels won't be as stiff.
Wash all of your towels in a single load, and do not wash them with anything else. Sometimes new towels will be covered in lint the first few times you wash them, and then they go away. Line drying is also a good option.
Dry your towles on the line outside.
