Tell me the answer to getting it off of wood----
Answers:
Acetone works better/faster on metal; but it will work on wood, too with more rags and elbow grease.
from Wiki: "Sharpie ink that has dried for more than several hours can be removed with acetone, but due to the power of the solvent, acetone may damage the surface material. On some surfaces, the ink can be removed by coloring over the ink with a dry erase marker and then removing the Sharpie ink and dry erase marker ink with a dry cloth. Steam cleaning has proved effective also. Magic Eraser has also proven somewhat effective on hard surfaces such as brick. Hairspray will also remove from smooth surfaces. Alcohol is particularly effective at removing the ink from skin."
um, believe it or not, reaser does, a standard pink pearl eraser will wipe it clean!
for metal, your best bet is rubbing alchohol, as for wood, the only thing i would say is sand paper, because with wood it soaks into the fibers and actually goes deeper than just the surface layer.
metal should come out with just about anything
wood if it hasnt been used to make anything or finished is practically impossible if it has been used for a table or something use Mr. Cleans Magic eraser it should work for both
hairspary. don't spray too much, just enough to wet the area. then rub with a clean cloth. this may be the only relevant thing i learned from the old nuns in middle school.
Denatured alcohol
I've used orange oil(find it in furniture polish isle) before on wood and all came off my wood table. Although you should let it soak and may have to reapply a few times.
